English Booth's "Real Old Willow" Large Gilded Edge 10.15" Dinner Plates, Set of 6

For more than two centuries, the Willow pattern has charmed collectors and storytellers alike with its romantic legend—two lovers escaping across a bridge, pursued by disapproving parents, only to be transformed into doves so they could remain together forever. Booth’s, one of England’s premier pottery houses, produced some of the most refined versions of this design, known for their deep cobalt transfers and fine detail.

This set of six large dinner plates is a rare find, retaining its original gilded edging—most lost their gold decades ago to abrasive scouring pads or early dishwashers. At an impressive 10.15", they’re larger than standard dinner plates of the era, making them both striking in a table setting and highly desirable among collectors. Maker’s mark on reverse.
