Victorian English Majolica Pond Lily Sugar Bowl

A charming Victorian English majolica pond lily sugar bowl dating to circa 1880. The rounded body is modeled with raised pond lily leaves and finished in soft green and cream glazes, with scrolling handles at either side and a domed lid topped with a knop finial. The interior is finished in a cream glaze, and the piece displays the sculptural qualities and decorative appeal characteristic of late 19th century English majolica. Unmarked, as is typical for many examples of this period.
