Mid-19th century English frog mug featuring classic black transferware decoration with hand-painted enamel highlights and a pearlware glaze typical of the 1840s–50s. The surprise inside: a molded and painted 3D frog, cleverly hidden at the base of the cup to “greet” the drinker. Double handles and charming figural detail make this a collector favorite. No maker's mark, as is common for the period. Large, 1 pint size.
