A full service for twelve in the classic Rat Tail pattern — that subtle ridge running down the back of each spoon bowl is one of the oldest details in English flatware, originally added for strength in the 18th century and carried forward because it simply looks right. Paired here with Art Deco–influenced knives with fluted handles, it’s a lovely bridge between traditional English form and early 20th-century restraint.
It’s elegant without being fussy. The weight feels proper in hand. The scale works beautifully for everyday dinners, holidays, or layered into a more collected table with porcelain and linen. Rat Tail plays well with everything — blue and white, crisp white china, even modern stoneware.
Maker’s stamps are impressed on each piece.
