French oyster plate with vivid seafood decoration, dating to the mid-20th century, c.1935–1960. Crafted on a Limoges porcelain blank and decorated in Paris, the plate features six wells surrounding a central reserve, each finished with whimsical marine life — shrimp, fish, mussels, crab, and starfish — in colorful detail. Marked on the underside with a Paris retailer’s scroll cartouche.
Painted with all the flair of a Parisian seafood feast, these plates would have felt right at home in a mid-century brasserie. Today, they’re just as versatile — perfect for oysters, hors d’oeuvres, condiments, or sweets. And when not in use? They double as striking wall art, framing a larger platter, mirror, or piece of coastal décor with effortless French charm. Light wear consistent with age, no damage noted.
