A vibrant set of six majolica plates featuring relief-molded artichokes and asparagus sprays in lavender and green against a turquoise ground. Likely produced in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, c.1930–1960, these plates reflect the whimsical Bordallo Pinheiro tradition of vegetable-form majolica.

Acquired in France, this set shows how Portuguese vegetable majolica was exported across Europe, prized for both service and display. While charming as collectibles, these plates are also endlessly versatile at the modern table — perfect as salad plates with the artichoke flower serving as a spot for a dipping cup or dressing, or as servers for crudités, hors d’oeuvres, or fruit and cheese. They also make striking wall décor, especially grouped as a set or framing a larger platter or mirror.
