C. 1880s English Tantalus w/Original Key

This antique English Tantalus is a rare find, complete with its original working key and matching cut crystal decanters. Designed to prevent unauthorized access—specifically 'servants and younger sons getting at the whisky'—while keeping the contents elegantly on display, this piece combines practicality with timeless sophistication. Measuring 3.25" x 8.75", each decanter holds approximately 24 oz (750ml). Signed by Betjeman's of London on the side.
