Beautifully hand-painted Japanese porcelain charger dating to the Meiji period, circa 1880. This scalloped Imari plate showcases the refined artistry of the era, with traditional panels of cobalt blue, iron red, and soft gilt surrounding a floral medallion. The reverse features classic stylized peonies and scrolling motifs, typical of fine 19th-century export Imari.
An elegant balance of geometry and nature, this charger captures the aesthetic of Japan’s Meiji artisans—merging inherited Edo-era traditions with modern decorative appeal. Lovely as a wall display, centerpiece, or collector’s statement piece.
