Rare Early 19th-Century English Staffordshire Rough Coat Poodle

A scarce early 19th-century English Staffordshire rough coat poodle, modeled seated with hand-worked, textured fur and a softly expressive face. Unlike the more commonly found smooth coat examples, early rough coat models are encountered far less frequently and are especially prized for their tactile surface and naïve charm.
The warm cream glaze with natural oxidation speaks clearly to age and authenticity. Unsigned, as expected for early Staffordshire production. A strong, cabinet-scale example for the serious collector of early English ceramics and animal figures.
