A true showstopper. This commanding pair of antique English Staffordshire Spaniels dates to the mid-19th century and showcases the beloved King Charles form, originally inspired by Queen Victoria’s favorite companion, Dash.
Towering at 12 inches tall, they’re among the largest Staffordshire dogs produced—and while they may not have entered the world together, they make an excellent match in both scale and palette. Their soulful eyes, hand-painted apricot detailing, and traces of worn gilt speak to the artistry and quiet luxury of their time.
The left-facing pup has notable wear to its gilding, and as is typical of early Staffordshire, both figures are unmarked. Majestic, storied, and full of character, they hold court wherever they're placed.
