Early 19th Rockingham Glaze Lion
Early 19th Rockingham Glaze Lion
Couldn't load pickup availability
Early 19th century English stoneware lion featuring a rich Rockingham, or treacle, glaze with deep tonal variation and strong sculptural presence. The reclining form and expressive modeling reflect traditional English decorative ceramics of the period, making it a distinctive accent suited to traditional interiors or collected ceramic displays. The interior has been filled at some point to add weight, originally produced as a thick/heavy hollow form, and this does not detract from its appearance or use.
