19th-C. English Inlaid Oak Storage Box

19th-C. English inlaid storage box with striking striped veneer and mother-of-pearl escutcheon. Original key included. Perfect for tucking away remotes, chargers, or keepsakes. Interior retains partial moiré silk lining with decorative trim, easily removed if desired. A fold-down hidden compartment in the lid offers storage for small documents or letters. Original inner tray is included, it is very worn and box would function better without it. Extremely unusual stripe pattern. Unmarked.
