These mid-19th century Victorian English Staffordshire King Charles Spaniels are beautifully modeled with elongated bodies, softly draped ears, and expressive wide-set eyes — finished not in the traditional white ground, but in a rare, full solid copper lustre glaze. The rich metallic surface was entirely intentional, achieved through an additional firing that gives them their luminous, reflective depth.

Staffordshire dogs are what started one of our lifelong obsessions.
