Set of three antique Copeland Spode relief-molded jugs in the coveted “Dancing Hours” pattern, circa 1890. First introduced by Spode in the mid-19th century, the design was inspired by neoclassical art and the ancient Roman frescoes of dancing Horae—goddesses of the hours—symbolizing the passage of time. The continuous frieze of flowing, robed figures was a hallmark of Victorian taste for classical revival motifs. Crisp detailing and elegant proportions highlight Spode’s exceptional craftsmanship of the era. Maker’s marks on undersides.
