Helmut Diller Carved English Bulldog

A realistically carved wooden bulldog by the German painter and sculptor Helmut Diller (1911-84) whose dog sculptures are most desirable. Made for and marketed by ANRI, an Italian company specializing in wood carvings since 1872. Well carved and painted in a realistic combination of tan, russet and brown The back left haunch is incised/signed DILLER. Original label on bottom.
