These highly sought after, unique dogs echo a rich royal legacy inspired by Queen Victoria's beloved "Dashy". Gracing the mantels of most 19th-century English homes, they remain highly collectible today. Most Staffordshire figures made from 1740 to 1900 were produced by small potteries and makers' marks are generally absent, however these dogs are stamped with a number 2 on the bottom to indicate size; with the range being 1 (largest) to 6 (smallest), numbered dogs are the most sought after of the collections.
