19th-C. Disraeli Staffordshire Dog

These highly sought after, unique dogs echo a rich royal legacy inspired by Queen Victoria's beloved "Dashy". This one is unique as it is a Disraeli spaniel, named after Queen Victoria's Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli who known for curls across his forehead, and the dogs were decorated as such. Most Staffordshire figures made from 1740 to 1900 were produced by small potteries and makers' marks are generally absent.
